Arriving to Xalapa
From México City
Take the bus at TAPO (Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros de Oriente) to Xalapa:
The bus ride to Xalapa is about 4 1/2 to 5 hours. The following options are suggested:
- ADO GL (One way: $ 534.00 mexican pesos)
- ADO Platino (One way: $ 794.00 mexican pesos))


Arriving to Xalapa
from the Mexico City Internacional Airport

Option 1: (Recommended) Take the bus (usually a Van or Shuttle) to Xalapa directly at the Airport Terminal 1 at the “Domestic Arrivals” area , the bus brand is named "ADO". It is better to arrive in Mexico City before or around 16:00 h, so as to be in Xalapa by 10 pm.

(One way ticket: $ 668.00 Mexican pesos)
Arrival: Terminal CAXA, Xalapa

Option 2: Take a 15-20 minutes taxi ride to the the TAPO (Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros de Oriente) bus terminal. It is strongly suggested to take an authorized taxi. Once you exit the Customs inspection area you will see a counter for authorized taxis-- (Sitio 300 (in Terminal 1), and Nueva Imagen (in Terminal 2)—in which you'll prepay your fare to your destination. Fares are fixed and determined by the zone into which you will be traveling. Next to the counter where you will pre-pay your fare is a map detailing the zones (to verify that you've been charged the correct amount). The fare to TAPO is approximately  $300.00 Mexican pesos. After you purchase your ticket you must walk outside to the line of authorized taxis (Taxi Terrestre), Enter the taxi and hand your prepaid ticket to the driver who will hand you back your receipt portion.

Option 3: (not recomended if you are at the airport) Going by subway (Metro) to TAPO. There are two Metro lines which you can take directly to the San Lazaro station(s) outside which TAPO is located (Line 1 (pink) and Line B (green/gray).

From Veracruz International Airport:
Option 1. Take a shuttle to Xalapa directly from the airport. Tickets are only selled after the baggage claim zone and before exiting controlled zone, at the same area where all rental car companies and controlled taxis are located. Shuttle brand is ADO.
- ADO (One way: $ 404.00 Mexican pesos)

Option 2. Take an authorized taxi to the Veracruz City bus terminal, then take a bus to Xalapa, there are  bus departures to Xalapa approximately every 30 minutes.
- ADO GL (One way: $ 184.00 Mexican pesos)
- ADO (One way: $ 170.00 Mexican pesos)


It is very important to consider the following:

1. Always take an authorized taxi, which you can identify at the exits of the corresponding terminals.
2. Please be on time at the airport before taking your flight:
     On international flights, 3 hours in advance.
     On domestic flights 2 hours in advance
